Nid ffermdy Cymreig cyffredin yw'r Ysgwrn. Un o brif resymau prynwyd y lle gan Awdurdod Parc Cenedlaethol Eryri ym mis Mawrth 2012 yw'r hanes a symboliaeth mae'r lle yn gynrychioli.
Mae'r cartref yn adlewyrchiad cyfnod o hanes cymdeithasol, diwylliant ac amaethyddiaeth ar droad yr G20. Mae bywyd a marwolaeth Hedd Wyn yn cynrychioli cenhedlaeth gyfan o ddynion ifanc o Gymru, Prydain ac Ewrop aberthodd eu bywydau yn y Rhyfel Byd Cyntaf.
Yn y rhifyn yma o Bodlediad Eryri, Naomi Jones Pennaeth Treftadaeth Ddiwylliannol APCE sy'n sgwrsio gyda tri ffrind agos iawn i'r Ysgwrn sef y bardd Myrddin ap Dafydd, y cyfarwyddwr Siwan Llynor a'r artist Luned R Parri am sut mae'r cartref hanesyddol arbennig yma wedi dylanwadu ar genedlaethau o ddiwylliant Cymreig.

Yr Ysgwrn is not your typical Welsh farmhouse. the history and symbolism that the place represents is one of the main reasons the Snowdonia National Park Authority bought it in March 2012.
The home reflects a period of social, cultural and agricultural history at the turn of the 20th century. Hedd Wyn's life and death are representative of an entire generation of young men from Wales, Britain and Europe, who gave the ultimate sacrifice during the First World War.
